Poured darker red with almost no head.

Malty and bready aroma together with toffee and dark fruits.

Sweet malts, caramel, brown sugar, dark fruits and yeast in the flavor.

Quite enjoyable!

The Original HY Super Beer Cuvée (HΨ) 750ml, 11% - Belgium

Poured ruby red with no head.

Very pale aroma which includes primarily caramel and to the less extend malts and dark fruits.

Sweet caramelized malts, together with dark fruits and brown sugar.

Both aroma and flavor are pretty pale.

Balthazar 330ml, 9% - Belgium

Poured deep brown with an air full, tan head.

Totally unexpected aroma. Quite spicy and acidic. Coriander, citrus, malts and yeast.

Lot's of coriander and ginger up front. Pepper, citrus and malts in the flavor.

This is a rather different approach, although I'm not sure that I like it. Too bad about the strong carbonation.

De Dolle Stille Nacht 2008 330ml, 12% - Belgium

Poured murky amber with a beautiful creamy, whitish head.

Very sweet aroma. Sugar, honey, syrup, malts and yeast.

Amazing flavor! Brown sugar, malts, honey, dark fruits (mostly raisins) and light spices.

Does this taste like a 12%? NO! This is top class!

De Dolle Oerbier 330ml, 9% - Belgium

Pours deep brown with a short tan head.

Aroma is full of malts, caramel and dark fruits.

Sweet malty flavor together with brown sugar, caramel, prunes and raisins.

De Dolle's high ABV brews are dangerously, highly drinkable!

Buffalo Belgian Stout 750ml, 9% - Belgium

Very dark brown, pretty much black color. With a lovely, compact head.

Yeasty aroma with some spices, citrus, hops and cloves.

Very sweet flavor. Caramelized malts, brown sugar, dark fruits, coffee and hints of caramel.

Not really what I expected. :)

Bolleville Calvados Barrel Oak Aged 750ml, 10% - Belgium

Poured very dark brown with no head what so ever. Quite still.

Sweet caramel, brown sugar and aroma full of dark fruits.

Slightly dry and woody flavor. You can actually taste the oak. Lite sweetness with a malty touch and moderate bitterness. It even has small cognac hints.

De Eycken Balthazar 750ml, 9% - Belgium

Poured murky brown with a compact tan head.

Sour aroma. Lot's of apples, citrus and yeast.

The taste is quite sour as well. Forrest berries, wild cherries and apples. Yeasty towards the end.

The carbonation could be a bit more gentle. This reminds me of Russian home made "Kwas".

Delirium Nocturnum 330ml, 8.5% - Belgium

Brown appearance with a small tan head.

Dark fruits, bread, malts and yeast aroma.

Sweet caramel malts from beginning to the end. Pepper spicyness, some caramel, brown sugar and a light metallic touch.

Lighter carbonation would help.

10 Commandments 750ml, 9% - USA

Deep dark red color topped with an air full mocha head.

Roasted malts, ark fruits aroma.

Lovely taste! Roasted malts, dark fruits, raisins and prunes, caramel, tiny hints of smokes. Smooth aftertaste, sightly dry and boozy. Medium to full bodied.

Trappistes Rochefort 8 330ml, 9.2% - Belgium

Pours dark read with a nice, even fluffy head.

Fruity and malty aroma. Brown sugar and prunes.

Malty and hoppy flavor. It has this light sweetness, a mixture of brown sugar and caramel.

Slightly boozy aftertaste here as well.
